Celebrating Local Artists

Things Unseen Theatre is always interested in presenting original works by local talent. We celebrate our area’s playwrights, and allow them to perform or preview their works with us. Contact us today to set up a workshop or performance of your new project.

2025 Season

We’re very excited to announce our 2025 season!

On April 10th through 13th, we'll be producing two plays, Gruesome Playground Injuries by Rajiv Joseph (whose play Bengal Tiger in the Baghdad Zoo was part of our 2018 season) and What Comes Next? by Penn State Altoona students Preston Pinos and Jay Schmidt, who are also directing both plays.

On August 21st through 24th, Nadine Miller will be directing the classic play, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? by Edward Albee.

On October 2nd through 5th, we’re presenting Stories of Courage, a staged reading based on research by PSU Altoona Professor Amir Marvasti. In this performance, staged readings explore the nuances and peculiarities of courage, a much lauded but poorly understood virtue. The readings will be based on empirical data from respondents who were invited to tell stories of their most courageous acts.

Past Productions

We began with Nightfall with Edgar Allan Poe in 2011, and ever since, we have been producing plays with themes and ideas that are not typically seen on smaller stages. Our past shows have explored a variety of themes intending to open our audiences' eyes to new and different social situations, lifestyles, and world views.
